The birds chirp near midnight.

I hear the train outside my bathroom window.
Its rare. Not that the train's whistle blares throughout the town, but that I notice.
After 14 years of living in the same place, I am no longer cognizant of things like that.

I stop and wonder:
"What will be the new sounds of the city?"
When I move, I will forget the lost sounds of this place.
Will I hear screeching cars, screaming babies, sirens?
Anything will happen in a city.
What will become my new night-time soundtrack?
Will it take long to adjust?

Will I miss these quiet nights, with the wind blowing soft and cold, and the trains lull me into a deep sleep of oblivian and peace?
